A Historic Dive Site Near Kemer
Just 7 minutes by boat from Kemer Harbor, the wreck of the “Paris” lies on a sandy seabed at depths of 21–31 metres, making it accessible only to certified divers due to its depth and technical requirements.
Historical Background
The “Paris” was a 65-meter-long, 14-meter-wide steam-powered ship built in the early 20th century. In 1917, during World War I, it was shelled by a small military unit commanded by Mustafa Ertugrul. The vessel sustained around 10 visible damages, which remain observable to divers today.

- Depth range: 21–31 metres
- Terrain: Sandy seabed, with the wreck partially intact
- Experience level: Advanced / certified divers only
Over a century underwater, the wreck has become encrusted with marine vegetation and serves as a habitat for a variety of marine life, including moray eels and scorpionfish.
Divers will also encounter remnants of charcoal and bomb shells, offering a unique glimpse into the ship’s historical role in World War I.
